The Best Portable Projectors for 2025

If what you’re after is portability, look no further than the Kodak Luma 500 Mini Projector. This is the only projector that I’ve been able to fit in my pocket that has respectable specs. The Luma 500 fits in the palm of my hand with its 5-by-5-inch size and it can shoot up to a 150-inch projection. It lasts 120 minutes per charge (you can leave it plugged in for longer sessions), has a powerful auto-focus and keystone correction control, and can shoot 1080p with 4K support. Just keep in mind that with 150 ANSI lumens of brightness, you’ll be limited to watching in darker rooms to see the image well.

While you can’t put the XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro in your pocket, it’s a great option for anyone looking to have a portable projector that you can move around inside the house or take on a whim to a friend’s house. That’s because the auto-focus and keystone correction is excellent. At almost any angle the projector is placed while shooting its image on a flat surface, the keystone will adjust the image and give you a great visual. The projector is user-friendly, so you can simply cast from your devices, since it uses the Google TV OS. The brightness gets up to 1,000 ANSI lumens, so you can shoot in ambient light settings without issue. It is also water-, drop-, and dust-resistant. The video quality will look good with its 1,080p native resolution, and of course, it has its own speakers. TCL makes a great budget projector if you don’t want to spend over $300 on a portable one. The TCL A1 GTV Projector is solid, with an internal speaker, a design that makes it easy to carry around, 4K support, and Google TV; you have all of your basic non-negotiables covered. The main thing you’re giving up, besides the low brightness with 360 ISO Lumens (limited to dark or dimly lit rooms) and being dependent on AA batteries, is the excellent corrective keystone that other projectors here have. You’ll have to manually do some tweaking to get the image right when you move it, according to CNET’s review.

If money is not an issue and you’re looking for the best portable projector with a native 4K resolution, look no further than the BenQ X300G. This is a powerful projector made for gaming, meaning powerful specs like a 4ms response time and built-in game modes, but it’s expensive and not as portable as others on this list since it doesn’t have a battery and needs to be plugged in. Still, it’s easy to set up and has a great keystone correction. If you want something you can move around easily without sacrificing specs, this is your best choice, as you can see from CNET’s review.
